Detox diet is a process of cleansing the body from harmful substances. The organs that benefit the most from detox diets are those most affected by toxins, including the liver, intestines, skin, kidneys, and lungs. By choosing the right foods, you can detoxify and improve the functioning of these organs.
Digestion and Constipation
For anyone considering a detox diet, the most important initial question should be: Is my digestion functioning properly every day? If not, then the primary goal is to balance and activate digestion in a non-aggressive, natural way. What does this mean?
- Avoid reaching for laxatives, which can disrupt the intestinal microflora. A diet rich in dietary fiber should be at the center of necessary dietary measures.
- Another aspect of this story involves adequate fluid intake, primarily water and herbal teas. For an average-weight person of average height, this means consuming between 1.5 and 2 liters of water throughout the day.
- In addition, it’s essential to limit the intake of sugar and dairy products (except for fermented dairy products like yogurt, kefir, and probiotics that should be consumed regularly). Sauerkraut is often unjustly neglected, as it is a source of vitamin C, probiotic bacteria, and fiber that stimulate immunity and digestive processes.
Detoxification Recipe
Most so-called detox diets are short-term dietary programs based on fruit meals and juices, intended to produce a specific effect. However, with long-term, proper use, detox diets yield much better results.
To help you at the beginning of this journey, Hotel Bitoraj has prepared a comprehensive package for intensive detoxification of the body, called Imuno&Detox.
Detox Diet and Hotel Bitoraj
The Imuno&Detox program provides an opportunity to step away from everyday stress, rejuvenate the body and mind, and gain new knowledge about health preservation acquired through workshops and prepared activities. Throughout the week, participants will be guided by doctors specialized in health tourism programs: Gordana Kučan and Jelica Popić.
Over the course of one week, program participants will “awaken” and “cleanse” their bodies while receiving a plan for continuing independent work on boosting their immunity. Prepare your body for a challenging period, and after completing the intensive program, continue to eat healthily with foods that detoxify your body daily and in the long term. Among them are onions, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli, buckwheat, barley porridge, figs, plums, blueberries, apples, grapefruits, mandarins, oranges, and more.
